Distribution: Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra (Indonesia).

Habitat: Tropical mountain areas over 1500 m elevation. Moist evergreen
forests

(Chinese Bamboo Ratsnake)

Distribution: Southeaster China, Laos, and northern Vietnam.

Habitat: Subtropical mountain areas over 800 m elevation. Medium moist
semi-evergreen and deciduous forests.

(Thai Bamboo Ratsnake)

Distribution: Northeastern Thailand.

Habitat: Subtropical mountain areas over 800 m elevation. Medium moist
semi-evergreen forests.

Morph: Yellow Calico

Distribution:Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia/Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam
Habitat: Tropical rainforests and is typically found in lowlands, foothills, and mangrove swamps.  
Being a predominantly arboreal species this snake is generally found in bushes and trees at
elevations up to 750m.

Euprepiophis mandarinus
(Mandarin Ratsnake)

Distribution: China, North Vietnam, Northern Burma, North East India, Taiwan

Habitat: Montane species but it does live at elevations below 500 m in many parts of its range. It
is common at elevations of 2000 to 2500 m. Found in a wide variety of habitats, from forest to
open areas.
Zamenis persicus
(Persian Ratsnake)       Morph: Piebald

Distribution: NW Iran near the Caspian Sea, SE tip of Azerbaijan (around Lenkoran)

Habitat: Moderately moist forests and forest clearings with little vegetation at higher
elevations.
Rhynchophis boulengeri   
(Rhino Ratsnake)

Distribution: Northern Vietnam and southern China.

Habitat: Subtropical rainforests between 300 and 1100 m elevation and has
often been found in stream valleys.

Distribution: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Malta, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Ukraine  

Habitat: Semi rural areas, frequenting farm out buildings, rocky hillsides, dry stone
walls, cultivated fields and isolated houses.

Elaphe anomala  (Amur Ratnake)
Distribution: China, Korea           Morph: Albino

Habitat: This species inhabits regions up to 2000m in altitude, a semi-aboreal snake that lives in a
variety of biotopes of grasslands, dry scrub, rocky areas and on the banks of rivers and lakes. E.
anomala is primarily a diurnal snake and also a nest raider, showing a preference of small rodents,
birds and their eggs.

Distribution: Bangladesh, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,
Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam.
                                       
Morph: T+ Albino

Habitat: Inhabits regions up to 1400m.  Found in tropical rain forests, plantations, farmland, dry
grasslands or near ponds and canals.
Orthriophis taeniurus mocquardi  (Mocquard's Beauty Snake)

Distribution: China, Vietnam.           Morph: Albino

Habitat: The species inhabits altitudes up to 1000m. Living in moderately moists areas,
landscapes with low dense vegetation, forest edges or areas near water, this is a semi-arboreal
snake that is seen in either on the ground or up in trees.


Orthriophis taeniurus taeniurus  (Chinese Beauty Snake)
Distribution: China           Morph: Calico

Habitat: Found in atitudes up to 1000m. Inhabiting areas such as edges of forests, areas with
low, dense vegetation, moderatly moist areas, and rocky landscapes. Noted as well in human
settlements and farmlands.
This semi-arboreal species is known for being both nocturnal and diurnal.
