At Exclusive Dragons we have had such wonderful opportunities to travel to various schools in
Toronto, Brampton and the surrounding cities with our entourage of selected Bearded Dragons to educate and expose to many children their first face
to face experience with a real live reptile! We have visited classes from J/K through to grade six and we are more than happy to visit with older grades.
It is thoroughly an enjoyable experience to see their faces full of excitement as they learn, touch, and see our Dragons. The children are always chock
full of questions that I am more than happy to answer. I love to quell their fears, put wives tales to rest and educate all at once!
I usually introduce my group of bearded dragons one by one, share with the class their individual personalities, and teach them about:
- Diet
- Habitat
- Care information
- Predators in the wild
- Special lighting and heating they require
- Where they originate from
- Why they are called a "Bearded Dragon" (Pogona Vitticeps)
- Behaviors
- The differences between a "boy" and "girl" dragon
- Brumation (Semi-Hibernation state)
- Hatching and rearing babies
and whatever else their questions lead us to!
Teachers usually request me to come in when they are teaching their dinosaur or reptile units so my dragons actually become like a visual aid,
educational tool and spark a real enthusiasm for the unit they are teaching!
If you are a teacher that would like me to visit your classroom or a Principal that would like me to come to your school please contact me at 647-893-
9003 or email me at info@exclusivedragons.com to arrange a day and time that is suitable to both of us. This is a free service that Exclusive Dragons
offers to our community and surrounding areas! When I come I try to also bring "age appropriate" activity sheets for the children. The only thing I
require is assistance bringing my Bearded Dragons & supplies in to the school!
